Jen and Scott's Wedding

It is always fun to “re-live the moment” when the wedding announcement comes out in the Kansas City Star. Such was the case this past Sunday, Feb. 12, when the announcement of Jen and Scott made the paper!

This was such a great couple to help plan a wedding. They had their focus not on the “wedding” but rather on the “marriage.” What a pleasant journey for all the vendors involved.

They had a whirlwind courtship and a short engagement. When  “they knew…they knew!” We had a marathon planning launch meeting and two weeks later the details were done: invitations ordered, gown selected, bridesmaids dresses ordered, all the vendors hired and the venues secured.  Jen was so open to suggestions of professionals, which made all the vendors pull out the stops and just try harder. The result: she had a gorgeous, gorgeous wedding. Even Mother Nature wanted her to have it picture perfect as the weather was a perfect early autumn night.

We dressed everyone at the InterContinental at the Plaza and then went by limo to the church, St. Peter’s at Holmes and 63rd Street. We paused (separately of course) at Loose Park and nabbed some late afternoon pictures.  The bridal party waited for five minutes in the limos in front of the church, got out and walked straight down the aisle. It was glorious.

The entire evening stayed so organized (a huge credit to the cooperative nature of the bridal party!) that we were actually about 15 minutes ahead of schedule all day. You must see for yourself-- here are some pics of the wedding from the guys at Kansas City's Blixt Photography.

I am a huge fan of short engagements. There is no second guessing your choices and the excitement of the process stays exciting…never a chore on an ever-lengthening “Do List.”
