The 2010 Michael Nolte collection was debuted last month at Bridal Market and it looks like we are growing the list of stores that carry my line from 40 to about 50. It was a scramble (as usual) to get the gowns photographed in time for the web-launch but thanks to the “let’s make it happen” mind frame of my favorite hair stylist, Joe Denny of Blo Salon and make-up artist, Scarlett, my fit model (for the third season) looked gorgeous, just in time!
The shoot was handled by my buddy, Tyler Wirken and took two days. For the first time, we did two different settings. One is the “record shot” that simply records the front and back views of each gown. The second is more creative as Devon, (my model), is posed in that languid styling that befits the LOOK BOOK.
If you would like to view the collection of 30 wonderful gowns, it’s at www.nationalbridal.com. The LOOK BOOKS will be printed next month and available by Christmas (hopefully!) The collection sells between $1,500 to $3,500 as you see it. We have customized many of them with loads of Swarovski crystals or upgraded the fabric from Italian satin to silk for an up-charge but they are SO worth it. The brides just love them and their parents think it’s great to support a local designer. (As do I….thank you!)
A couple of my favorite new babies in the collection entitled ‘Bridal Bouquet” are “Peony” and “Hydrangea.” Peony is a silk taffeta ball gown with the newly hot crumbcatcher bodice and pockets! Totally gorgeous at only $2,000.00. Hydrangea is done with a trumpet silhouette of Mikado (that’s the fabric with the twill, grained effect) and a fabulous bubbly organza train…that is detachable! And it’s only $1,500.00!
I was thrilled with the pricing for this season. Because we have direct from the factory shipping, we eliminate so many layers of cost and the bride really is paying for JUST the gown, thus leaving her more $$ for other essential elements.
